Supported reception types:
Further details about the reception types can be found in the "Technical Specifications" section.
Use the eight tuners for any reception type or for a hybrid satellite operation in combination with a broadband cable or terrestrial signal.
For operation with broadband or terrestrial signal, only a single signal cable is required.
Satellite signal reception is achieved via Unicable on single-cable systems (SCR – Single Cable Routing) and also requires only one cable.
The prerequisite for operating on a satellite system (LNB or multiswitch) is a Unicable®1 (EN50494) or Unicable-II®/JESS®2 (EN50607) system.
Reception of multiple satellites (DiSEqC) is also possible with single-cable systems.
The MAX M8 enables the parallel reception and processing of multiple TV streams via cable or terrestrial signals. Perfect for demanding TV and streaming applications, media servers, digital video recorders, TV analysis, and much more.
The GTL port (20-pin header) allows direct integration of the MAX M8 into existing as well as future Digital Devices systems, ensuring seamless connection with Octopus NET mainboards or the Octopus GTL Bridge for miniPCI Express.
Note:
The GTL port is not compatible with older DuoFlex Twin Tuner expansion cards.
The Unicable protocol enables up to 8 participants to be supplied via one signal cable. With UnicableII®/JESS®, support for up to 32 participants is possible – provided there are enough tuners available.
